Monk Eghomanous Bishoy Al Souriani

He passed away at the age of 81 years old. Had spent 44 years in monastic life, known for his pure angelic life.

Father of confession: His Grace Anba Sarabamon, bishop and head of St. Bishoy monastery.

Work assigned to him in the monastery:

• He worked at the lab for milk, preparing the Holy bread and at the animal farm.
• He served in St. mark church in Alexandria: 1974 till 1976
• He served in Nagaa Hamady Centre – Kena governorate: 1977 – 1978
• He served at Fisha El Nasara village in Menoufia: 1979 – 1984, since then he settled in the monastery.

About one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday 02.04.2017 Fr. Monk Bishoy Al Souriani passed away at El Haya hospital in Cairo. The funeral prayers took place at exactly 5 o’clock in the evening of the same day at St. Mary’s church (The Cave) in the monastery. Those who participated in the funeral prayers are His Grace Anba Metaous, bishop and head of Al Sourian monastery, His Grace Anba Sarabamon bishop and head of St. Bishoy monastery, as well as His Grace Anba Isitheros bishop and head of Al Baramos monastery and His Grace Anba Abifanous bishop and head of St. Makkar monastery, accompanied by many of the monks of these monasteries.

May the Lord God rest his pure soul peacefully in paradise and may God support us as well to reach our heavenly lot and heritage among angels and saints.
