Read after the Gospel in the Mass on Tuesday of the fourth week of Lent. It includes urging the preference of spiritual things over earthly things depending on the verse of a young man in the chapter of the Gospel: "Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God."(Luke 9:57 - 62).

Thus,any one of us mustn't waste part of his time to bury his father if this will hinder the spiritual things.What do we deserve if we spent most of our time away from the things of our Christ to in-necessary things.Watch the comfort you get when caring for spiritual things which is considered as token reward.This young man wanted to get rid of the weeping, wailing,supplies of the assembled. Then the search starts for the commandment, distribution of inheritance and what follows from this trading waves that hamper the safety of the port.Our lord cared for this young man.A lot of people may hide the information of the death date of a sick man from his son,brother or relative out of pity.They may even prevent him from attending the burial out of such pity. If the man body 's compassion is considered pity ,won't it be more in case of the soul??For this meaning Our lord said:"No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."(Luke9:62)It is better to help people get of death than to bury the dead especially if he has who can bury him.Our Lord gave 2 benefits to such advice.The first is that spiritual matters are preferable to anything else even if it is easy & relieving.The second benefit is realization of the truth about the real life & death.A lot of people think they are alive while actually no difference between them & the dead.They are stuck to their sins.It is better to say that they are in an worse case than the dead, because the book says,"For he that is dead is freed from sin.Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."He who is freed of sin is better than its servant.This sinful man has rotten his soul before his soul & keeps rotting.He moves to non-dieing worms.He is in a worse state than the dead.Therefore,care must be given to those who are in worse state.We should approach our Master just as Mary approached him for Lazarus.We shouldn't give up on life even if the dead had rotten& days had passed after his death.Instead,we should ask,believe,remove the rock which represent the heaviness of the earthy aspects.When the dead arise by the help of God,we work on untie them from the ties of sin. The drunk stays falling down. The love of money prevents the Charity.The concerns of this world blindfold the eyes ,tie the legs from viewing , walking & seeking the ways of God.The smug solves all the organs of the body in a way that is worse than the degeneration in the tomb.If you asked who enshrouded these people?I answer you: their enemy is Satan, who binds them with a very strong ties.Our only way is the supplication to them by fraternal affection so that we all acquire the real life,the grace,generosity,& compassion of our Lord, God Jesus Christ with his father, the good and the Holy Spirit be glory forever. Amen.
