The Apparition of the Virgin Mary to Bishop Rueiss
Bishop Rueiss lived during the era of Pope Metaous the 3rd. He had a very strong bond with our Lady the Virgin Mary, and he departed on the commemoration of the Virgin Mary on the 21st day of the month of Babah. During his hour of departure, the Virgin Mary came and took his soul, as he requested.
After Bishop Rueiss’ departure, the Virgin Mary appeared to his neighbour, and she was as bright as the sun. She asked him to come and bury the body of Bishop Rueiss at the Khondok Monastery (which is also known as St. Rueiss’ Monastery).
